Hermann Farm Project
For the Hermann Farm project, DJM self-performed a substantial amount of earth and civil work throughout
the course of construction of a new pond and horse arena. This project involved mass excavation and grading, installation of culvert pipe and an inline water control structure, and construction of both Redi-Rock and stacked stone boulder walls.
Construction Figures (2018-2021):
― Demo and site prep included removal of an existing building, decommissioning of a former municipal lagoon system, installation of a construction entrance, mucking out of ponds, and installation of all necessary SWPP items
― Mass earth moving and grading
― Installation of multiple parking lots, staging areas and roads using geotextile underlayment and layered
aggregate bases, complete with compaction testing
― Pipe/Swales – HDPE Dual Wall, 30” flared end section, rip rap outfalls, and over 3000 linear feet of 36” culvert pipe
― Planting bed prep – 73 cubic yards shredded hardwood mulch, 363 cubic yards compost soil amendments
― Plant Material – various tree species up to 3” caliper, native 5-gallon shrubs, and perennial plugs
― 860 linear feet of concrete seat walls with stone veneer
― Footings & Foundations for historic barns and outbuildings
― Revegetation using cover crops and hydroseeding across the entire project area (20+ acres)
