The L575 Buchanan-Atchison-Hamburg Levee System in Hamburg, Iowa experienced significant damage during
a 2019 Flood Event, which led to seven breaches and substantial other damages throughout the 52 mile levee system. As USACE civil contractors were rebuilding and repairing the levee, DJM mobilized a crew that installed high performance turf reinforcement mat (HPTRM), which was secured with percussion driven earth anchors and soil pins. The HPTRM was installed with both top-of-crest and toe-of-slope anchor trenches that varied in size with widths from 24-36 inches and depths from 24-60 inches.
